What's most chilling is what part of him isn't injured. His left arm, though weak, is fully intact. The places that are most damaged - his face, his sides - are in grabbing distance of it. An uneasy feeling settles in her gut.
It doesn't matter. What matters is getting him well. So she's going to the best place she knows for that.
First aid for monsters is only a temporary measure anyway. What really heals monsters is the Fog - but it's not a foggy week, Her presence hasn't yet saturated the peninsula. So she's heading for the next best place.
Before long, Lager Woods is looming above the two monsters. ]

For whatever it's worth, though, Sonic doesn't struggle any more -- just holds on. His speaker occasionally makes a soft, distorted buzzing sound and some fanbelt in his body tries in vain to kick on several times during the trip]

But she's not sure if he's running out of time, and this is the best idea she has. So they approach the woods.
She's been here many times before. She's been learning the paths and the patches of fog; the trees are good from warning her away from Her influence. But now she heads towards one of those patches.
Just at the edge of one, she lowers herself on her roots; he's clinging to her, so she doesn't feel like letting go of him. But she does let the tendrils of fog gently waft around both of them, the gray mist encircling the ruined simulacrum; hoping She'll heal her friend. ]
Please... come on, please... it's gonna be okay, Sonic-kun...

Whatever Sonic's opinion of the Fog is, it seems she still has whatever passes for "affection" for him. The mist creeps into his wounds, into open cavities and leaking cables, into his badly damaged speaker.
The effects are immediate, but subtle -- the raw, rough edges of his injuries smooth over, almost like they're being buffed out. The vessels and cables and tubes knit themselves back together, making something functional but certainly not attractive. It will take a real Fog or two and a good meal before he can grow back the missing chassis and other parts, but for now, at least, he's stable.]

She gently brushes some of the cable-like hair out of his eyes; tries to re-fit back in a couple parts of his chassis that have come loose but not fallen off entirely. ]
Sonic-kun?... Sonic-kun, can-- can you hear me?...
no subject
It hurts. It hurts so much... but at least it IS something he can feel.
And... hear?
Someone is calling his name.
No. Not HIS name. Sonic died. Sonic is dead. What's here is just... some sort of shell.
His speaker makes some sort of sound that MIGHT be words, but it is still too damaged to be discernible. The voice is completely distorted with buzzing and sputtering, and sounds more like a text-to-voice AI than his normal voice. Whatever he is saying, though, does lilt like a question]

[ She speaks quietly, gently petting what's left of his chassis on his head. She isn't sure how much he can feel this, but... surely not none, right? ]
I'm here, I... you were hurt...
[ She's just going to stay kneeling in the fog for now, letting Her do what she can to put Sonic back together. But she's already thinking about the next step. She swallows and looks around.
The edge of the forest isn't far, nor is the path back to Bavan; and in the quiet week between fogs, there's a few people milling about there. ]
I think... you might need to-- to feed, to... to get your strength back...
no subject
The idea of feeding, though? Triggers something in him. He starts squirming again, body quaking, shaking his head violently. He does manage to get a word out, over and over again]
No no no NoNONONO NONO --!
no subject
I know... I know, I'm-- I'm sorry... [ She swallows. ] It'll be worse otherwise...
no subject
But he really doesn't want to hurt Nanami. How long has it been since he ate? Did all that time in Felfri count...?]
no subject
[ He probably won't go anywhere. Right? He's still healing. He's not gonna crawl off or run off.
...Right? ]
Stay here. [ The nymph gently lowers him down to the ground, at the base of a tree. Looks up at it, quietly asking it to take care of him. ]
I'll be right back. I promise.
[ And then she's crawling at top speed (for her) towards the road. ]

Slowly she crawls back to his side, and lays the human down on the ground. ] She won't wake up... I used my venom on her... to put her to sleep.
no subject
He makes no motion to feed, but his cables lay uncoiled on the frosty ground]
no subject
Then she crawls back, just a bit. The last part, he has to do himself. ]
cw: electrocution

There's a new network post - she clicks over to it. ]
... Oh no .... oh no, everyone thinks you're dead-- [ And she starts typing very fast. ]
no subject
He uncurls a little and looks up at Nanami. The eye on his injured side displays a graphical glitch, but the other displays a flashing question mark. "What???"]
no subject
They-- I guess they found some of your parts-- and Reira-san presumed the worst... we should get you home.
no subject
Then he makes some sort of weird, awful grinding sound, punctuated by static and garbled noise. It's a terrible noise.
But it becomes apparent that he's laughing. Cold and unfeeling.
What an awful noise.]
