I know... I know, I'm-- I'm sorry... [ She swallows. ] It'll be worse otherwise...

But he really doesn't want to hurt Nanami. How long has it been since he ate? Did all that time in Felfri count...?]

[ He probably won't go anywhere. Right? He's still healing. He's not gonna crawl off or run off.

Stay here. [ The nymph gently lowers him down to the ground, at the base of a tree. Looks up at it, quietly asking it to take care of him. ]

I'll be right back. I promise.

[ And then she's crawling at top speed (for her) towards the road. ]

[Well, for whatever it's worth, he doesn't move while she's gone. Not much, anyway. Whenever she returns, he's slumped against the tree, his LEDs dark and parts of him sparking as he heals more]

[ It's not too much longer before she's coming. There's an unconscious human in a bridal carry in her arms.

Slowly she crawls back to his side, and lays the human down on the ground. ] She won't wake up... I used my venom on her... to put her to sleep.

[His eyes do not turn back on, but he does turn his head away. His speaker makes a horrible grinding noise. He didn't want this. He didn't want to do this... why should he feed, when he wanted to be dead...?

He makes no motion to feed, but his cables lay uncoiled on the frosty ground]

[ Carefully, the nymph lowers next to him. And then she gently lays the cables on top of the prone human.

Then she crawls back, just a bit. The last part, he has to do himself. ]

[for a while, the cables just lay inert on the body. But after what seems like forever, Sonic curls himself into a tight little ball, completely covering his face and chest with his arms and legs. The cables seem to come to life, but sluggish -- drunken snakes. Usually four, one was damaged when Sonic "prayed", and sparks uselessly. The remaining three "feel" around the body and finally latch on to the human's wrists and one ankle. The current passes through the body almost instantly, causing the body to jump and a scorch mark to form between the three points of contact. The body smokes a bit, but the electricity had passed directly through the heart, causing it to stop immediately]

[ Nanami pulls open her laptop then, to have something to do - so it doesn't look like she's watching him. But she is watching, quietly, and a bit listlessly. It's sad, it's horrible; but it's also what Sonic needs, and there's nothing to be done about that.

There's a new network post - she clicks over to it. ]

... Oh no .... oh no, everyone thinks you're dead-- [ And she starts typing very fast. ]

[he hates how much better he feels. It makes him want to be sick. But there's no actual stomach to go along with the nausea.

He uncurls a little and looks up at Nanami. The eye on his injured side displays a graphical glitch, but the other displays a flashing question mark. "What???"]

[Sonic looks away for a moment, eyes going to static then back to normal.

Then he makes some sort of weird, awful grinding sound, punctuated by static and garbled noise. It's a terrible noise.

But it becomes apparent that he's laughing. Cold and unfeeling.

What an awful noise.]
